How Kids Can Enjoy Their Backyard

A backyard scavenger hunt for kids is one way for children to enjoy their backyard and for you to have active and engaged children.  Here are a few great ideas for what you can do with your children in your backyard.  These activities will really let them enjoy the yard with creative ideas that will keep them engaged and very happy.

1. Create a Scavenger Hunt for KidsOne of the things that you can do is to create a kids scavenger hunt in your backyard.  Create some great clues and use different items that are in the backyard.  This will not only keep them engaged, but it will have them really pushing to beat their siblings or their friends.
2. Throw a Tent PartyIn addition to a kids scavenger hunt, children love to camp out in the backyard; they can do all kinds of great activities when they are camping out.  Go and get them some flashlights, some great sleeping bags, and some snacks.  Let them lay out in the yard on a nice night in their tent and enjoy the stars.

3. Let Them Create a Lemonade StandsChildren love to have lemonade stands, let them create a lemonade stand that they can sit on the curb with.  Have them decide what they will serve and help them make it.
4. Do Backyard Arts and CraftsThere are all kinds of great summertime craft projects that you can do with your kids.  These projects are better done outside to because if there is any sort of mess it is easy to clean up.  Let them have some fun in the yard.
5. Have a Great Summer PicnicSummer picnics are a great way to enjoy your backyard.  What you will want to do is try to make some great summer recipes, have some great burgers and hot dogs, look for a great fruit salad recipe, you’ll have a blast eating outside picnic style.
6. Have  a Backyard Bonfire PartyGet some wood, find a fire pit, and get your marshmallow roasting sticks handy.  Let your kids have a blast roasting marshmallows and making S’mores.  It may be messy, but it will be tasty and fun.
7. Take a Night to Make Star MapsUse your backyard one night when it is clear to look at the stars.  You can actually make different constellation maps with your children.  They will be able to learn how the constellations are set up and they’ll have fun doing so.
