Does anyone know where Jerusalem Artichokes come from as I am sure they have nothing to do with Jerusalem. ![]() Gardenboy |

Welcome to the forum, Jerusalem Artichokes are native to North America and you are correct in saying they have nothing to do with Jerusalem. They were called Sunroot before arriving in Europe. Thanks Dan, I wondered the same thing. I think Sunroot sounds rather cool, I wish they were still called that.

This is quite funny as the plant is not actually an artichoke nor is it from Jerusalem
